A paper by Valerie Izzo, a Center for Energy Research scientist, has been nominated for the 2009 Nuclear Fusion Award for her work on:
"A numerical investigation of the effects of impurity penetration depth on disruption mitigation by massive high-pressure gas jet," V A Izzo, http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0029-5515/46/5/006

A short list of eleven papers from the 2006 volume of the journal "Nuclear Fusion" was chosen for nomination based on the citation record and recommendations by the Board of Editors. Among these papers, the winner will be chosen by the Board by secret ballot to select the single paper determined to be of highest scientific quality and impact. This year's winner will be announced at the annual American Physical Society - Division of Plasma Physics meeting in November. This is fourth year of the Nuclear Fusion Award. Dr. Izzo's nomination follows two CER nominees for the 2008 Award.
