PISCES Plasma Edge Physics and Plasma-Material Interactions Laboratory
The PISCES Research Program performs fundamental and applied experimental research in the field of boundary plasma science for fusion applications. The principle research thrusts include the physics of the plasma boundary region, plasma materials interactions science, and plasma facing systems technology.

Laser Plasma and Laser-Matter Interactions Laboratory
Research is carried out on the interactions of high-energy lasers with matter across a wide range of intensities, from materials behavior below the ablation threshold to laser plasma physics.

High Energy Density Physics Laboratory
The High Energy Density Physics Group at UCSD carries out research on inertial confinement fusion (ICF), fast ignition, laser-matter interactions, wire array z-pinches, x-pinches and neutron sources.

The Combustion Diagnostics and Environmental Measurements Laboratory
This laboratory is dedicated to leadership in development of new diagnostics for combustion and environmental problems, and the understanding of combustion and reaction physics.
