CER News:
PISCES Team awarded a three year DOE grant of $5.4M

9 January 2007

The PISCES Program, led by Professor George Tynan, Dr. Russell Doerner, and Professor Farrokh Najmabadi, was recently awarded a three year grant for $5.4M for research in the 2007-2009 time period. This CER research program focuses on the interactions that occur between material surfaces and the boundary region of hot fusion-grade plasmas, and provides a focus for collaborations between scientists from the US, Europe, and Japan in which the performance of the plasma facing materials of ITER - the world's first burning plasma experiment - is evaluated.
