William Torre Appointed NAATBatt's New Chief Technology Officer

bill torreWe are pleased to announce the appointment of William (Bill) Torre as NAATBatt’s new Chief Technology Officer. Bill replaces Ralph Brodd, who recently stepped down having served as Chief Technology Officer of NAATBatt since its founding in 2008. As NAATBatt’s Chief Technology Officer, Bill will help guide its programming and field inquiries received from members of the press and the public about advanced electrochemical energy storage systems and technology. Bill is CER's Program Director for Energy Storage Systems, where he oversees research on developing energy storage and integration of renewable generation. Prior to joining UCSD, Bill served as Manager of Research and Development at San Diego Gas and Electric Co. (SDG&E). 

NAATBatt International is a not-for-profit trade association of companies, associations and research institutions commercializing advanced electrochemical energy storage technology for emerging, high tech applications. Their mission is to promote the commercial interests of their members by supporting developments in the science and markets of advanced electrochemical energy storage technology, consistent with the goals of enhancing energy efficiency, in order to reduce petroleum dependence and enable carbon-free electricity generation.
