Workshop on Frontiers of High Energy Density Science and Plasma Physics

July 22-23, 2019 | Fort Collins, Colorado

Please register by xxxxx, 2019.

High Energy Density Plasma Sciences encompasses everything from astrophysics to ultra-fast to ultra-intense laser-plasma interactions, intense radiation and more.

Join us for a 1.5 day workshop with an emphasis on:

  • Theory and computation,
  • Measurement techniques and diagnostics,
  • Beams and disruptions, and
  • The use of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

Speakers come from academia and industry and will lead special discussion topics:

  • MHD, Plasma Kinetic and Atomic Physics/Radiation Transport codes
  • Magnetic field generation, deployment, B field detection
  • Diagnostic techniques including Optical and X ray Thomson scattering, particle beam detection, etc.
  • Radiation and particle damage
  • Space propulsion
  • Waste treatment
  • Nano science
